Electric Vehicle Chargers

You may have heard, and most likely experienced the nationwide gas shortage due to a ransomware attack on May 7th, 2021. Since that day, the gas pipelines have been shut down and Americans are realizing more than ever just how much we rely on gasoline vehicles.

You may have been one of the many people waiting in line at the gas station for an hour just to fill up your tank, or perhaps every gas station near you was out of gas and you had to stay home from work that day. Imagine if there was a vehicle you could drive that did not rely on gasoline; then you would have no worries during a gas shortage like this.

Luckily for you, these do exist. They are called electric vehicles. Electric vehicles are powered by batteries that are plugged into the electrical grid, opposed to gasoline that is nonrenewable.

With plug-in electric vehicles, instead of filling your car with gas, you must plug them into charging stations. One popular electric vehicle and charging station is the brand Tesla. Cape Fear Solar Systems is the only Tesla-approved charging station installer in Southeastern, NC, and has been installing Tesla EV chargers for a couple of years now, but plan on installing many more in the years to come.

Because you must be certified to install EV Chargers, our Senior Project Manager and Commercial Solar Developer Robert Parker added to our Tesla EV Charger installment certification and has been certified to install Charge Point EV Chargers.

Electric vehicles are more than just a lifesaver during gas shortages, they actually save you money in the long run. According to Consumer Reports, “a typical EV owner who does most of their fueling at home can expect to save an average of $800 to $1,000 a year on fueling costs over an equivalent gasoline-powered car.” In addition, they reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to “smog, climate change, and ecological damage.” (Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy)

Now that you have decided electric vehicles are the way to go, you will need to install an EV Charger! Cape Fear Solar Systems can install both Tesla and now Charge Point EV Chargers for your home or business so that next time there is a gas crisis you won’t have to worry.
