Whole home backup with a single battery.

Whole home backup with a single battery.

Advanced Battery Technology

15-kWh Capacity

Whole home backup can be achieved in most cases with a single aPower 2, due to its robust 15 kWh capacity, 10 kW discharge rate, and 185LRA output for large HVAC usage.

Dynamic Integration

Add an aPower 2 to an existing system with its AC-coupled design, generator integration, and smart-circuit technology.

15-Year Warranty

With a warranty that extends 5 years beyond those of competitors, the aPower 2 is warrantied for 15 years or 10,000 cycles.

Thermal Management

Rated from -4 OF to 130 OF, the aPower 2 is suitable for almost any climate, with fan-less convection that makes it significantly quieter and more reliable than industry-standard fan-cooled batteries.

Energy Independence

Retain a stable power source, even if the grid is down.

Backup Power

Power your home during an outage, without the need for a generator.

Grid Flexibility

Choose when to tap into the grid, based on your utility’s rate structure.

Inflation Protection

Safeguard against future utility rate increases.

How Do Batteries Work?

As your home's solar panels are producing electricity, any immediate energy needs are consumed first. And the excess power? Without a battery, the excess electricity gets sent to the grid in exchange for credits. But when there's a power outage, your solar array stops producing power to prevent sending power to the grid and frying a lineman attempting to repair the problem. Without a battery, even though you have solar, you won't have power during an outage.

A battery stores excess energy on your property and creates a closed loop within your system. Power doesn't get sent to the grid unless you want it to. The energy stored in your battery is able to power your home during an outage, and get recharged by the solar panels the next day.
