On August 5th, 2024, SunPower filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As previously shared with our SunPower customers, this will not impact your product warranties. In the last five months, there still isn’t much more information available.

As of right now, the mySunPower app that homeowners use to monitor their systems’ performance is not functioning.

As a workaround, so that both our customers and ourselves can continue to monitor their systems, Cape Fear Solar Systems is strongly recommending that customers with SunPower panels contact us to install the Emporia Vue Home Energy Monitor. This alternative monitoring solution will not only bring you peace of mind and control of your monitoring future outside of SunPower, but will also allow us to bring your system into our new mySunMate monitoring fleet.

As an added bonus, consumption monitoring with this product may also be available with compatible electrical systems.

To cover the hardware cost and the work of the Cape Fear Solar technician that will install your new monitor, we are charging $499 for this upgrade. Monthly payment options are also available. Please inquire further if that would be your preference.

By trusting Cape Fear Solar Systems with your solar installation, you have partnered with a local contractor dedicated to ensuring your system performs as designed for the entirety of its lifespan. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
